Though at first glance it appears as a delicate objet d’art, KINA is reliable and strong enough to be used as an ottoman, stool, or even a table. It also has a lightweight frame that is easy to move. Designed by David Trubridge of New Zealand, KINA was displayed at an IFDA Commemorative Display during the tenth IFDA in 2017.
This product is intended to showcase the result of precision molding techniques as well as our technicians’ meticulous attention to detail. As a result, this item requires much handiwork to perfect. Construction of KINA’s intricate curves and interwoven, mesh-like frame is almost entirely completed by hand, and the natural oil finish is also hand-applied. As a symbol of CondeHouse’s technological prowess, it is not only meant to be used functionally, but also to be admired as an object to look at, touch, and treasure. KINA fits well as a statement piece in residences, and can also stand out in open office spaces. It can exude a strong sense of presence in hotels and other public facilities.
The ellipse frame is constructed with Japanese Birch wood. Choose from a cork, upholstered, or color-coated top portion. Available in two sizes.
